Play House is a training lab for actors and performers focussed on learning, creating and growing out. Part creative training, part lab exploration, these sessions are designed to keep our performing muscles flexed and to connect with other creatives in Sheffield.
Unlike other training workshops, Play House is about coming together in a welcoming environment to grow through creative play. The sessions focus on fundamentals and are open to actors and performers at any level (early-career or established).
Each 3 hour session consists of 3 phases:
Connect
Physical and energetic actor training led by The Growth House to warm up and connect as a group.
Explore
An invited practitioner leads the session to experiment and explore an idea. This could be a new performance concept, a game, an exercise, a piece of new writing or a dramatic training approach.
Express
Time to cool down and feedback in the room.
