Paula- Heyyyoooo! (Laughter)
Peter- aha! Yes! So can you just tell me your name, middle names if you have them and any imaginary names, first of all?
Paula- Oh my God, yes I can, ok, so my acting name is Paula James, I’m not going to tell you my middle name
Peter- ok
Paula- My real name is Paula Hamilton. My, when I was younger I was typing with the name Clara Paris.
Peter- Oooh
Paula- I know thank you, very much. I was going to have a whole Jewellery line under that name, didn’t happen. I’ve left that, that name’s gone now. But yeah.
Peter- What about the jewellery line?
Paula- Oh Yeah I make jewellery, that still happens.
Peter- What kind?
Paula- Um, wire, wire and gemstones and um and yeah, lovely things.
Peter- awesome
Paula- Yeah
Peter- Can I get some?
Paula- Yeah of course!
Peter- Great I would love that
(laughter)
Paula- It’s turned into an advert for my jewellery.
Peter- Yes! Please tell me your website, your social media handles etc.
Paula- it’s Pea Jay Creations - P-e-a J-a-y creations and um it’s on Etsy but it’s on holiday at the moment.
Peter- sweet yeah I get it.
Paula- While I’m here.
Peter- Exactly! Yeah like my yoga’s on holiday
Paula- Yes
Peter- Thanks Paula
Paula- That’s alright babe
Peter- Can you tell me a bit about your experience of Gin Craze!?
Paula- My experience of Gin Craze! Has been really positive, really good, it was, it’s an incredible amount of stuff to do.
Peter- Oh and what do you do in Gin Craze! For the people who want to know
Paula- Ok, I’m a performer in Gin Craze! So I play and sing and act in it and do a tiny bit of dance.
Peter- YEah and you’re super amazing at it.
Paula- Well that’s not...I didn’t say that.
Peter- I said it though!
Paula- (laughter) ok, cool! We did, we had so much to do. We had 4 weeks to do it in. It was a whirlwind, it required focus and energy and it was tough and there was lots of like, you know like that sort of crunching, grating and screeching of like growing pains, there was a lot of that. you know like eeuugh how does this work?
Peter- Where do you feel you’ve grown?
Paula- Growing into the piece, like making this piece it was all these different elements, not just us as separate actors but also as this instrument that I now have to learn everything for and this song I have to learn all these bits for and these lines I have to learn and an emotional journey I have to do.
And they all have to come together in yourself as well as with your company and then with your director and with the lighting and set and it everything has to come together and that’s where those, growing and like painful bits are
Peter- Could you do that as an animal and a colour, like everything you just said?
Paula- a crunchy animal, like, like, like an, an Aardvark. But aardvarks are really lovely. No.
Peter- Crunchy Aardvark.
Paula- Crunchy Aardvark, hmmm. The colour is like a midnight blue.
Peter- Great.
Paula- I don’t know of an animal.
Peter- You’ve said it now Crunchy Aardvark it is.
Paula- No it’s not
Peter- OK.
Paula- it’s not that.
Peter- Crocodile?
Paula- No it’s not crocodile either no.
Peter- Vegetable?
Paula- Aah-it’s like, it’s like a suede, a suede was the first thing that came to my mind actually.
Peter- Great! Great- so Gin Craze! - Midnight Blue Suede.
Paula- Midnight Blue Suede!
(laughter)
Peter- Thanks Paula!
