Shouting out the Neighbours! #1

Once a month we are going to shout out the work by our friends and neighbours: from music and photography, to podcasts and poems. This is what our friends and creatives have been up to this month.

#LancelotTalks…to Jane Elliot

Artform: Podcast
Musician, podcaster and all around top guy, Lancelot Casely-Hayford, has released a 2-part interview with American diversity educator Jane Elliott. She has gone viral with many videos and exercises, most famously the Blue Eyes Brown Eyes exercise which is discussed in this interview. They also discuss the emotional ignorance behind racism, and what we can do, both as individuals and as a society, to make them better.

My Latest Role - Ali Wright

Artform: Photography
Photographer, Ali Wright, creates a series of portraits to acknowledge those creatives who became key workers during the pandemic. Taking up roles in factories, nursing, funeral homes, chefs and more, these creatives applied the skills they had been developing to a new challenge - beautifully captured by Ali.

INHUMITE - King Venus

Artform: Music (Gothic Rock)
Old friend of the company, King Venus, has released new music via Bandcamp. INHUMITE is the second song from the CORRESPONDENCES sequence—a concept album following the metaphysical transformation of protagonist Vriel during the apparent death of the Solar System. Channeling gothic romanticism, dark fantasy, and science fiction (in the vein of James O'Barr, Neil Gaiman, and Arthur C. Clarke), CORRESPONDENCES is an occult allegory framed as an Oratorio.
